About Thanks Dad

My father...my son. - Melody Beattie
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
constantly evolving as times with my father or times with my children bring up a memory or inspire a new image that I need to share. I suppose through Thanks Dad I have dedicated a part of my life to memorializing my father. His passing left me with sadness and regret, but more importantly it left me with an undeniable sense of gratitude. Thanks for being a father to me. I miss you Dad. This is for you. Thanks.
“Thanks Dad” carries many meanings. From a simple “thank you” for who you are and for spending time with me, to the all encompassing “I love you”. When I think back to the times I spent with my own father, “Thanks Dad” is the phrase that always ends my reverie. Thank you for being there, thank you for spending time with me, thank you for teaching me, thank you for making me who I am today. This is how I remember my father. This is how I would like my children to remember me.
When my children give me a hug and back up that hug with a “Thanks Dad!” my instinct is to grasp them up in a great big bear hug and respond with “I love you too!”
Thanks Dad’s art was inspired by my own memories of my father. These snapshots, suspended in time, take me back to a place where my dad and I were the only people that mattered. Whether on a crowded beach, ski slope or playground, my father and I seemed like the only souls around. These are the moments in time that we wish to remember forever. These “snapshots” tell of the unconditional love and understanding between a father and child which so often can become blurred by the hustle and bustle of everyday life. These are the memories that often fade too quickly, memories that Thanks Dad has captured forever. These are wonderful memories, filled with love and respect, which will bring you a smile every time.
As a gift for Dad, a gift for Mom, or a gift for kids, we hope that Thanks Dad will capture the message and the memory for you and bring a smile to your face. Thank you for visiting us, and keep checking back for new memories as Thanks Dad continues to grow.
Sincerely,
